Barnardo’s welcomes the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the duty it places on large organisations, including Barnardo’s itself, to disclose publicly the steps they are taking to prevent modern slavery organisationally and in their supply chains.

Barnardo’s is a First Responder for the National Referral Mechanism and has a
duty to ensure that all young people we work with who have been suspected of

If you suspect a child may be trafficked, call the Modern Slavery Helpline on 0800 012 1700.

If the child is in immediate danger phone 999 immediately and let the operator know that there is a potential that they are a trafficked child.

You should also make a safeguarding referral to your local authority.  Details of how to do this will be on your city, county or district council’s website.

Barnardo’s therapy service has been brilliant and supportive. I found not only a knowledgeable and supportive therapist but also a compassionate person who genuinely cared about my child,
